Fully Implement the Maryland Self-Direction Act of 2022

• Ensure policies align with the intent of the law.
• Protect budget flexibility and hiring autonomy. 

Reverse the Harmful Policy Changes Introduced on November 21, 2024

• Stop restrictive wage policies that prevent self-directed participants from hiring and retaining quality caregivers.
• Remove excessive administrative burdens and bureaucratic delays that block access to services.

Convene an Independent Task Force

• Establish a stakeholder-led task force to assess DDA’s failures and propose sustainable reforms.
• Ensure the task force includes participants, families, legislators, and select DDA employees.
